Two illegal jetties evicted
A mobile court of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) in a drive at Bridgeghat area, south side of Karnaphuli River in Chittagong, on Sunday evicted and fined two illegal jetties. The CPA mobile court in another drive also fined TK 60,000 to two ships to run the ships without license and fire extinguishers. CPA Executive Magistrate Mohammad Abul Hashem along with police and CPA Ansar members conducted the drive and evicted jetties, detained goods at the south side of Karnaphuli River.

6 businesses fined

Separate mobile courts of Chittagong District Administration and National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate (NCRPD) on Sunday fined TK 2.8 lakh to six commercial establishments including four bakeries in different area in the city for preserving food items in improper ways. Deputy Revenue Collector and Executive Magistrate of Chittagong District Administration Mohammad Ruhul Amin led the mobile court of district administration at city’s Panchliash thana crossing and fined TK one lakh to Probashi Bakery for producing adulterated foods and date expired biscuits. The mobile court also recovered huge decomposed and date expired biscuits from ‘Probashi Bakery’ in the same area.  In separate drives, the mobile court of NCRPD fined four bakeries and a restaurant TK 1.8 lakh for not maintaining cleanliness and preserving food items in improper ways.
