Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) is organising a musical evening by singer Mitali Banerjee from India today at 6 pm at its Gulshan premises in the city. Mitali Banerjee was initially inspired in music at her tender age from her mother late Smt Mayarani Bhattacharya and later from others such as Shefali Roy, Shri Asit Kumar Sen etc. She was trained under legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer late Biman Mukhopadhyay. She learned Hindustani Classical Music under Pandit Samaresh Chaudhury. She is an enlisted artiste of All India Radio. She completed Sangeet Visharad in Nazrulgeeti and Hindustani Classical Vocal Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti of Allahabad. She also completed Sangeet Bhushan in Rabindra Sangeet from Prachin Kalakendra of Chandigarh. She is a singer of Light Indian music in Private TV Channels. She performed in different stages of Kolkata.
