Bangabandhu gave guidelines for independence: HT Imam

PATUAKHALI: Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam said Bangabandhu had provided full guidelines for the independence in his historic March 7 speech that is aired at every house even today as means of national unity, reports BSS. “The historic speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had a full guideline for the war of independence before the independence struggle started formally,” he said at a civic rally at Kuakata on Wednesday night.
HT Imam, who served Bangabandhu as a bureaucrat, said when Bangabandhu started to rebuild the war-ravaged nation after the very birth of this country, conspirators worked silently to create an era of 1975, when the great leader and most of his family were brutally killed in a pre-dawn coup. “Ziaur Rahman was one of the conspirators,” he said.
Recalling the initiatives of Bangabandhu for a planned development of Kuakata, HT Imam said, “Bangbandhu laid the foundation stone for Kuakata’s development through land acquisition to turn it into a tourist spot. His daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has developed this area further and now it is a tourist spot of crows’ attention.”
He said Kuakata would be linked by railways once the Padma Bridge is in place by 2018. The Paira Port, country’s 3rd seaport, would also be developed in a planned manner, he said adding, development activities done by the present government would bring smiles on the faces of local communities soon.
