Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday donated Tk 25 lakh as financial assistance to wife and family members of ailing freedom fighter and actor Farid Ali, reports UNB. Sheikh Hasina handed over a Tk 20 lakh Family Savings Certificate and a Tk 5 lakh cheque to Monwara Begum -wife of Farid Ali and his family members at her office yesterday.  PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said the Prime Minister directed members of the family of Farid Ali to meet his treatment expenses, foods and others with the amount. Freedom Fighter and Actor Farid Ali has long been suffering from heart diseases, diabetics and different old aged complications. His family could not bear the expenditure for the treatment.
Coming to know the matter from newspapers, the Prime Minister took the responsibility of his treatment and got him admitted to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in the capital. During the time, the Prime Minister enquired about the condition of Farid Ali. She was informed that Farid Ali is feeling somewhat better than before.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also handed over a cheque of Tk 10 lakh to Shahina Akhtar Chowdhury- wife of former Bahubal Upazila Awamu League President late Kakul Shahriar Chowdhury as financial assistance.
