The passing out ceremony of the fifth batch of pre-sea cadets of International Maritime Academy was held yesterday at a campus at Pubial, Gazipur.
Some 115 cadets have passed out this year from Nautical and Engineering division, says a press release.
Shajahan Khan, Minister for the Ministry of Shipping, attended the occasion as the chief guest. Mrs. Meher Afroze Chumki, State Minister for Ministry of Women and Children Affairs was present as the special guest. The minister in his speech said there is a great importance of private sector in the development of a nation. He applauded the role of International Maritime Academy for its contribution to the maritime education and training.
