Police arrested Kotchandpur upazila parishad vice chairman Muwabia Hossain and seized a pipe gun, six rounds of bullets and four bombs from the upazila yesterday afternoon. Muwabia, 50, is also ameer of upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami and a resident of Kotchandpur Bus Standpara. Officer-in-Charge of Kotchandpur police station Ahmed Kabir Hossain said acting on a tip-off, a contingent of police arrested Muwabia from the upazila parishad area at about 10.00 am. As per the statement of Muwabia police recovered the arms and ammunitions from Ambagan area in Solemenpur of the municipality.
