South Asian Youth Society (SAYS), a non-profit regional youth development organisation, recently distributed warm clothes and blankets among destitute people affected by cold wave in remote areas of Vendabari union in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur as part of its ‘Sharing Warmth’ programme.
“We had a target to donate blankets to the children, orphans and elderly people who were suffering in the winter,” said Moon, a member of SAYS Community Development Team.
Since 2011, SAYS has been organising winter blanket and clothes distribution under its ‘Sharing Warmth’ programme in different cold-affected districts of Bangladesh. The programme is organised by the participants of Young Fellowship Challenge of SAYS.
Since its inception in 2008, it is recognised as a leading platform for young social leaders and change- makers involved in social and human development activities in South Asia. SAYS envisions building peace and prosperity in the region.
