Jatiya Sangsad Deputy Speaker Advocate M Fazle Rabbi Mian yesterday said the country is now witnessing rapid development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reports BSS. He was speaking as chief guest at a roundtable discussion on "Seventh Fifth-Year Plan and Ultra Poverty-Free Bangladesh" at Mohammadpur YWCA auditorium in the capital, said an official release. The deputy speaker suggested giving special attention to the development of life standard of marginal people. National development is not possible keeping the farmers and labourers poor, he added. The deputy speaker said the marginal people are now upgrading to middle-income group because of the Prime Minister's patriotism and compassion for the common people. He hoped that the country would be able to attain sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030 under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. Then the disparity in wealth distribution will decline and there will be no poor in the country, he said. He urged the people to extend all-out cooperation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build Bangladesh as a prosperous and developed country.
