Three fake doctors held in capital

The anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday arrested three fake doctors from different places of the capital’s Tejgaon area and sentenced them to different terms of jail. Talking to The Independent, RAB-2 Director Lt Col SM Masud Rana said getting secrete information, a team of RAB-2, led by Deputy Director Syed Salauddin Mahmud, conducted a raid at Al Madina Dental Care, Shamim
Drug House and Dhaka Dental Care at Tejgaon in the city yesterday.
The arrested were identified as Md Aktar Hossain, 38, Md Abdul Awal, 24, and Maolana GM Wahid, 70. During the primary interrogation, they all admitted that they were providing treatment claiming themselves as dentists, said RAB-2 boss.
Among the arrested, Akter, also the owner of Kawran Super Market at Kawranbazar in the city, had been earlier arrested by RAB. But after being released from jail, he again started working as dentist.
In his business card, he claimed he has DDTDBKPL degree but actually he passed SSC only.
Awal and Wahid were assistants of two dentists and then they themselves  were also providing treatment claiming themselves  as dentists, said Major Syed Salauddin, who led the drive.
RAB executive magistrate Md Anisur Rahman sentenced them to different terms of jail ranging from two years to one year. The mobile court also fined them Tk one lakh each.
