‘New Titas gas well to go into production soon’

The 25th well of Titas Gas Field is expected to go into production soon as the drilling at the well has already been completed, officials said, UNB reports from Brahmanbaria.
Logging in boreholes is now going on which will require about one month, the officials also said, adding that the well will go into full production after that.
The well is expected to produce 25 million cubic feet of gas every day, they said. At present, four new wells of the gas field are being drilled and the work will be completed by June.
If all the four wells go into production, at least 100 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) will be added to the national grid.
China’s Sinopec is drilling the wells at a cost of Tk 480 crore. Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the government of Bangladesh are jointly financing the drilling work.
Titas Gas Field supplies some 525 mmcfd of gas to the national grid, meeting 31 per cent of the national demand.
