Four-day recitation fest, open competition at BSA

On the occasion of the fifth founding anniversary, Swarchitra, a recitation organisation in the country, has organised a four-day recital festival and open competition from June 10 to 14 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the city. Presided over by President of Swarchitra Mahidul Islam, Cultural Affair Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the festival on Wednesday, while BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, General Secretary of Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad Ahkam Ullah, noted recital artiste Ashraful Alam and General Secretary of Sammilito Sangsritik Jote Hasan Arif were present, among others, as special guests at the inaugural ceremony.
On the opening day, members of Swarachitra presented group recitation ‘Ar Koto Rakter Darkar Hobe’, while Abu Zafar Obaidullah recited a famous poem titled ‘Ami Kingbadantir Kotha Bolchhi’. The second day of the festival also featured recitations by the artistes of different districts, including recital groups Swarakalpan and Kandan Kala Kendra. The open recitation competition, divided into six sections, is being held everyday from 4 pm to 9 pm for the students of Class I to University level, until June 14. l
