Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) and Renoir Film Club (RFC) have jointly organised the 110th edition of the World Film Manifestation Programme (WFMP) at Alliance Française de Dhaka in the city’s Dhanmondi area. Initiated by DUFS, two-day WFMP has been organised to give film-lovers an opportunity to watch classic films from different countries of the world on big screen. The event is being organised on a regular basis in collaboration with cultural centres of embassies of different countries in Dhaka. In this edition, three French films by filmmakers Fred Zinnemann, Hany Abu-Assad, and Ziad Doueiri will be screened today and tomorrow. RFC is dedicated to presenting French films in high definition for Dhaka filmgoers, organised entirely by Connoisseurs for Connoisseurs. ‘L’attentat’ (The Attack; 2012), directed by Ziad Doueiri will be screened today at 4pm and ‘Paradise Now’ (2005) directed by Hany Abu-Assad at 6pm. Tomorrow, ‘Chacal’ (1973), ‘The Day of the Jackal’ directed by Fred Zinnemann will be screened at 4pm.
