Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Sayedul Huq yesterday said Bangladesh is now a self-reliant country and not dependent on any state in the world, reports BSS. “There is no alternative to professional higher education to take the nation and the country to the global standard,” he said speaking as the chief guest at a fresher’s reception at University of Information Technology and Science (UITS) at Baridhara in the city.
Presided over by UITS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Chowdhury M. Zakaria, the function was attended by UITS Board of Trustees and PHP Group Chairman Alhaj Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and Joint Secretary of Ministry for Information and Communication Technology Sarkar Abul Kalam Azad as special guests.
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Dr. M. Ashrafuzzaman and UITS Board of Trustees Member Secretary Prof. Dr. KM Saiful Islam Khan also spoke on the occasion. The newly enrolled students ware received with flowers at the function, said a UITS press release.
