JP postpones Ctg councils
The South district and city chapter councils scheduled for June 13 and 14 respectively have been postponed as JP Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad suddenly fell ill. Contacted, Mahjabin Morshed, MP conformed The Independent postponing the councils. “Our party Chairman HM Ershad was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka on Tuesday as he was suffering from knee problems. Later, Ershad was admitted to the CMH on Tuesday night when he fell ill on the way to Dhaka from Barisal,” said Mahjabin, convener of JP Chittagong city chapter. “We were all set for holding the upcoming councils. However, we are now planning to hold our councils after Eid-ul-Fitr,” added Mahjabin who is also the vice chairman of Jatiya Party.
