CCC takes Tk80cr uplift projects this month

The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) is going to take ten development projects at a cost of Tk80 crore this month, said CCC sources. The authorities already floated tender for five development projects in a cost of Tk 16.14 crore on Wednesday while the rest of tender at a cost of Tk64.40 crore will be floated on June 23 this year. The other five projects at a cost of Tk120 crore will be floated within July, confirmed the CCC sources.  For the first time the CCC authority introduced e-tender. On Wednesday tender for five projects published in the newspaper called quotation through e- Government Procurement (e-GP) portal. In the e-tender through web portal, a contractor has to register; contractors have to submit quotation through e-GP. Opening tender, assessment of tender, approval of tender and the all tender related task will be done by using portal of e-GP.
The 15 development projects will be materialised under Inclusive City Governance (ICP) in first phase at a cost of Tk 200 crore financed by the development partner, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).  The projects will be implemented by December 16 this year.
Among the projects floated tender for five projects were ‘Construction of Bridge near at Rubi Cement’ at a cost of Tk2.11, ‘Construction of four lane bridge on No.9 Guppta Khal’ at a cost of Tk6.98, ‘Construction of bridge at Fisheriesghat’ at a cost of Tk2.35 crore, ‘Construction of bridge at Jaliganj’ at a cost of Tk2.35 crore and ‘Construction of bridge at Techpara’ at a cost of Tk2.35 crore.
Tender will be floated for the five projects on June 23 are, ‘Carpeting on the road from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport to Saltgola crossing to Cement Crossing’ and ‘Road carpeting Kathghar to Patenga beach and construction of pavements and drains’ at a cost of Tk 30.59 crore, ‘Construction of pavements and drains at Mariners Road’ at a cost of Tk 12.67 crore, ‘Construction of four lane bridge on No-15 khal’ at a cost of Tk12.05 crore and ‘Construction of bridge on Chaktai Khal’ at a cost of Tk9.09 crore.
The other five projects are ‘Construction of retaining wall for Moyesh Khal’ in three phases in first phase at a cost of Tk41 crore, second phase at a cost of Tk 14.50 crore and the third phase at a cost of Tk27.5 crore, ‘Construction of retaining wall for Diversion Khal’ at a cost of Tk7 crore and ‘Construction of retaining wall under Ishak’s pool’ at a cost of Tk 10 crore. The tender will be floated for these five projects in July, said CCC sources.
A team of JICA will sit with CCC on Sunday for feasibility study of other two projects of ‘Carpeting on Zakir Hossain Road’ at a cost of Tk20 crore and construction of two ward councilor’s offices.
When contacted, Monirul Huda, executive engineer (Planning) of CCC, told The Independent “We have already floated tender for five projects and we are going to float tender for more five projects on June 23.”
 “Tender for the rest of five projects will be floated after discussion with the representative of JICA on July at a cost of Tk120 crore,” added Moniurl Huda.
He also said that as the condition of JICA, quotation for the projects called through e-GP portal for the first time. The contractors have to submit all the tender related documents as quotation through the portal; no paper will be received in hand.
“The projects which will be materialised with the finance of JICA, quotation will be called thorough the e-GP portal and quotation for the projects of Annual Development Programme (ADP) will be called through e-GP gradually,” Huda.
The national e-Government Procurement portal is (www.eprocure.gov.bd) by which the CCC called quotation for tender and tender related documents.
