A Tangail court on Sunday sentenced two persons to life term imprisonment in separate murder cases.
Additional Second District and Session Judge of Tangail Md Abul Manzur Mia pronounced the verdicts.
The prosecution case in brief is that Osman Ali director of Sun Moon Coaching Centre at Pakulla under Mirzapur Upazila was awarded life term RI and a fine of Tk 10,000, in default to suffer  one year additional RI for killing Lima Akhter, 12, daughter of expatriate Lutfor Rahman Khan of village Chukuria.
 Lima Akhter was killed on June 22, 2008. Her body was later recovered from the coaching centre. A case was lodged with Mirzapur police station accusing Osman Ali, Momena Khatoon, Bazlur Rahman Bhuyan and Mohsin Khan Mojlish of the murder. The court also sentenced the three others one year RI and slapped a fine of taka 10000, in defaults to suffer four more months.
The court on the same day sentenced one Sohel Rana to life term imprisonment and fined him Tk 10,000, in default to suffer one more year of RI for killing his uncle Hasmot Ali of village Akanderbail under Ghatail Upazila on 12 March, 2014. Sohel Rana killed his uncle in a feud over land. Local people caught hold of Sohel and handed over to police.  Later, a case was lodged with Ghatail Police Station. The court after considering the witness, charge sheet and other relevant docoments found Sohel guilty and pronounced the verdict.
