Woman kills husband
Gaibandha: A woman allegedly killed her husband by slitting throat as he protested her extramarital relationship with a neighbour at Sahapara in Sadullapur upazila on Wednesday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Binoy Saha,36, a resident of the area, Police said Shangkori Rani, wife of Binoy, had an extra-marital relationship with her neighbour Sufal Chandra Saha. Binoy had earlier warned Sufal to end the relationship. On Wednesday, Shangkori Rani and Sufal killed Binoy by slitting his throat as he went out of the house to respond to call of nature at about 11:00 pm. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police also arrested Shangkori Rani from the spot while Sufal managed to flee the scene.

Election to Officers Association of Noakhali Science and Technology NSTU 2016-17 was held at Haji Idris auditorium on NSTU campus on Wednesday A total 74 officers cast their vote in the election. Tarek Rashaduddin was elected as President and Shakat Hossain general secretary. The other elected executives are joint general secretary Md Mojibur Rahman, Abdur Rahman treasurer, SM Saium office and publication secretary, Jinatera Chowdhury women affairs secretary and Khaled Mehadi Hassan (sports and cultural secretary), Md Goalm Rabbani Palash and Mahamudur Rahman.
712 fishermen get ID cards
LAXMIPUR: Fisheries Department has distributed identity cards among 712 fishermen of Ramganj upazila of the district on Wednesday, reports BSS. All registered and identity card holders fishermen of the district from now will get government facilities including bank loan to boost their business. The distribution ceremony was held at the upazila parishad auditorium with UNO Mohammad Abu Yousuf in the chair. Ramganj Upazila Parishad chairman AKM Ruhul Amin, assistant project director of Ministry of Fisheries, Abdur Razzak, other officials’ concerned, public representatives and elites of the town were present on the occasion.
Student killed in road crash
JAMALPUR: A minor school boy was killed in a road accident at Balijuri Bazar area under Madarganj upazila of the district on Wednesday, reports BSS. The dead was identified as Sanchoy Das, 8, a student of class two of Balijuri Government Primary School and son of Gama Das of Uttar Gabergram village in Madarganj upazila. Police said the accident occurred when a sand laden tractor rammed the rickshaw carrying Sanchoy Das near his school in Balijuri Bazar area. He died on the spot.
