Steam has been in the heart of PC gaming for many years. It is safe to say that steam has helped to PC gaming survive this long against consoles. It offers plenty of great games, Brawlhalla is one of those. Brawlhalla is a 2D fighting game available on steam for free. It is nothing like the traditional action of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, it’s something more like the famous Super Smash Bros from Nintendo.
Brawlhalla lets you choose from a range of characters known as ‘Legends’. Each has different weapons. Each hero can use two different weapons which they receive as pickups during matches. The current game consists of 19 Legends. You can only get access to six Legends which change weekly. You can permanently unlock a Legend with in-game gold or you can unlock all Legends with cash by buying the full game, it’s quite typical for a free game.
There are very few multiplayer games that require skill such as Brawlhalla. The game is very competitive and requires cunning decisions to win. The interface and controls are easy to understand. You can get used to it very fast. The best option is to get used to a specific Legend and master it. That way you will know your shortcomings and know when and how to attack. There is a good range of different maps available that require a slightly different play style to survive. You might get pitted against the same opponent several times and the number of active Brawlhalla players isn’t very high.
Brawlhalla gives you the option of playing co-op with a friend in 2v2 modes, or it can be four players free for all. You can also play against bots to hone your skills. As with most online games, a slight lag can cause a great misfortune, so it’s wise to play with a stable internet. Brawlhalla is always available on steam with a small download size.
