Ton-up Pinak leads U-19 to win series against WI

Ton-up Pinak Ghosh led Bangladesh Under-19 team to seal three-match youth ODI series with one match still to go. The home team dumped the visiting West Indies by 171 runs in the second match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong yesterday.
Bangladesh piled up 299 for five in 50 overs after taking the strike first and in reply the visitors were bowled out for 128 in 49.3 overs.
Opener Pinak held the Bangladesh fort strongly after conceding a couple of wickets for 44. Pinak who smashed a well composed 109, added 179 runs for the third wicket with Nazmul Hossain Shanto which laid a solid foundation. Pinak sent the ball to the ropes nine times in his 135-ball knock. Nazmul too cracked a stylish half century making 79 off 98. His spectacular knock decorated with five boundaries and one over the ropes.
Local skipper Mehedi Hasan Miraz also made a valuable contribution to help Bangladesh reach almost 300 mark.
 Windies pacer AS Joseph was the pick of the visiting team bowler claiming two for 50.
The Windies chasing almost a run a ball target faced a batting collapse as they lost wicket at regular intervals. Opener GD Pope (23) and two
Tailender  KMA Paul with 25 was the top scorer for the Caribbean side, while opener GD Pope with 23 was the other notable scorer. Mehedi Hasan Rana  and  Saleh Ahmed Shawon picked up three wickets each.
