Rampage in Brahmanbaria protested

Different cultural and political organisations under the banner of Sammilita Sanskritik Jote (SSJ) staged a demonstration in Brahmanbaria town yesterday protesting Tuesday’s rampage by a section of Madrassa students. Students of Jamia Islamia Yunisia Madrassa vandalised several institutions, including the railway station, and torched Music Maestro Alauddin Khan Centre on the day protesting the death of a fellow. Before staging yesterday’s march, activists from different cultural and political organisations also held a rally at the press club square in the town, demanding arrest and punishment of those responsible for the violence in which a madrassa student was killed on Monday. The rally was presided over by convenor of SSJ Abdun Nur. Meanwhile, two more cases have been filed over the clashes and the death of the Madrassa student in the town accusing 6,094 people so far. On Wednesday, the number of cases was six.
