Retailers to reduce edible oil price by Tk 5 per litre

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday said retailers will reduce edible oil price by Tk 5 per litre from Saturday, reports UNB. “We, on behalf of consumers, have requested the traders to cut down the edible oil price following the fall of its price in the international market, and they’ve angered to reduce it by Tk 5 per litre from Saturday,” he said. The minister came up with the announcement while talking to reporters after a meeting of business advisory committee meeting at the Commerce Ministry auditorium at the Secretariat. Tofail said the government is providing traders with all necessary facilities to smoothly run their businesses. Mentioning that they have created a good scope for investment, he said there will be no problem to give necessary gas and power supply for the new investors. “The government is sincerely working to resolve the problems of businesses. The minister also assured the businesspeople that they will be able to do their bunnies smoothly in the days to come as a peaceful and stable situation is prevailing now. “There’ll be no political turmoil in the coming days as those who had created chaos have already joined the municipal polls, and they’ll also take part in the national election in 2019,” he observed. Chairman of JS committe on Commerce Ministry Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Commerce secretary Hedayetullah Al- Mamun, FBCCI president Abdul Matlub Ahmad, BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman and BKMEA president AKM Salim Osman, among others, attended the meeting.
