JS body discusses Aug 21 grenade attack case
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry yesterday discussed unusual delay in disposing the sensational August 21, 2004 grenade attack cases, reports BSS. The issue was discussed at the 16th meeting of the standing committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with Committee Chairman Suranjit Sengupta presiding. Committee members M Tajul Islam Chowdhury, M Shamsul Haq Tuku, M. Abdul Majid Khan and Advocate Ziaul Haq Mridha attended the meeting, said an official release. The meeting also held discussions on the progress of making a report by the law ministry after examining two reports of Law Commission and a report of parliamentary committee on quick disposal of backlog of cases in courts across the country. Secretary of law and justice division, law commission chairman and officials concerned were present at the meeting.
