Dadu Bhai to get Shishu Academy award

Litterateur Rafiqul Haque, popularly known as Dadu Bhai, who is reputed for his excellent rhymes, will get Bangladesh Shishu Academy Sahitya Puraskar-1420 (Bangla Year), reports BSS. Bangladesh Shishu Academy announced his name for the award, a press release of the academy signed by its director Mosharraf Hossain said here on Monday. The organisation will give the award to the winner at a function very soon, it added. The press release said, "Rafiqul Haque is one of the major artistes in the arena of contemporary Bangla rhymes. He has been writing for all including children and adults for the last six decades. His rhymes are very unique for his diversification of words, rhythms and contents and expression. Bangladesh Shishu Aca-demy Sahitya Puraskar of 1420 has been conferred on him in recognition of his remarkable contribution in the field of literature." Rafiqul Haque's notable books are: 'Panta Bhate Ghee', 'Borgi Elo Deshe', 'Nebur Pata Karamcha', 'Dhamerki' and 'Aampata Jora Jora', 'Boi Boi Hoi Hoi' (Play) and 'Prachin Banglar Rupkatha'. He is one of the oldest children organisers. He founded the children-juvenile organisation 'Chander Haat'. From 1396 Bengali Year (1989), the academy started giving the award to a litterateur for contributions in the field of literature. Some 24 noted litterateurs got the awards in the previous years.
