Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad yesterday said the people have rejected BNP in municipal polls, reports BSS. "BNP has got a reply to its arson activities," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a function marking the orientation of the first year students of the first batch of Mugda Medical College in the capital. The minister hoped the people will vote for Awami League in the national election to be held in 2019. "People want development. Therefore, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading development activities in the country," he added. Presided over by Department of Health Director Prof M Abdur Rashid, the function was also addressed by Inter Parliamentarian Union Chairperson Saber Hossain Chowdhury, MP, Department of Health Director General Prof Deen M Nurul Haq, Mugda Medical College Principal Sania Tahmina and Vice-Principal Shah Golam Nabi, said an official press release. Referring to Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day, Mohammad Nasim said the academic activities of Mugda Medical College's first batch students began on a historic day. The government has set up the medical college at Mugda as per its pledge and it has a plan to establish a global standard nursing institute there, he added.
