Stalkers injure college girl

Stalkers tried to kill a college girl after failing to rape her in Delduwar upazila of the district yesterday.� The girl is identified as Suniya Akhter, 16, a second year student of Nallapara Abul Hossain College and daughter of Ashrob Mollik of village Fultara. Sobder Ali, a relative of the girl, said the victim�s father is day labourer. The college authorities have exempted her fees. Local people said stalkers Solaiman, 20, Sabbir, 22, and others of the same village tried to rape her in a banana orchard at Fultara village when she was returning home from her college on Monday. The criminals cut her throat with a knife and left before local people rushed to the place hearing the scream of the girl. Local people admitted her to Delduwar upazila hospital. When her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital. She is now undergoing treatment at ICU there.� Officer-In-charge of Delduwar police station said police are trying to arrest the stalkers.� Abdus Salam Bhuiyan, member of Abul Hossen College governing body said the victim is poor but meritorious. He demanded punishment to the stalkers.
