Local miscreants shot a college student in the capital’s Central Road yesterday following seating at a tea stall in front of the Ideal College in the area. The victim was identified as Naimur Rashid Nadim, a eleven grade student of the college and son of Harun or Rashid, a resident of Circular Road of Kalabagan area. Kawser Alam, an eyewitness of the incident , also a classmate of the victim, said,‘‘ Two days ago, Nadim engaged in an altercation with another twelve grade student Palak over seating in a tea stall in front of the college campus.’’ Following the issue, Palak, outsider Sayef Hossain Roman along with some local criminals gathered in front of the college. At one stage, Roman shot marking Nadim’s left leg leaving him injured. Classmates rushed him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. A case was filed but no one was arrested till filing the report.
