West Indies U-19 team in capital

A 21-member West Indies Under-19 Cricket team arrived in Dhaka to play a youth bilateral series against the host Bangladesh yesterday.
The visiting side has accommodated at Le Meridian Hotel in the capital.
The Caribbean tourists will play three-match youth ODI series against the home side, starting from January 11.
The opening match of the series will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on January 11 though it was scheduled to take place at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
The second and third match of the three-match series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chittagong on January 14 and 16 respectively.
AEM Kawsar, deputy manager of BCB Game Development, admitted the matter of the arrival and said that they will stay in Dhaka for the first match and then travel to Chittagong on January 12 to play the remaining matches of the series.
“West Indian Cricket team landed Dhaka today at 10:30am. They will stay at Le Meridian till January 12. And then they will travel to Chittagong for playing the rest of the matches,” said Kawsar.
“They will stay in Bangladesh till the finish of their World Cup part,” he also said.
West Indies have been drawn in the Group-C with England, Fiji and Zimbabwe. They will open their World Cup campaign with England to be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) on January 29 following two warm-up matches against Scotland on January 22 and South Africa on January 24.
The Caribbean side will next play against Oceania counterparts Fiji at MA Aziz Stadium on January 31. They will play their third and last group match against Zimbabwe at ZACS on February 2.
