Four killed in Dhaka road crashes

Four people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital’s Turag, Ramna and Kadamtoli areas yesterday, reports UNB. Two unidentified young men were killed while 2 to 3 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near East-West Medical College Hospital on Abdullahpur-Ashulia Road at noon. One unidentified victim, aged around 24, died on the spot, while another one, aged around 28, succumbed to his injuries around 1:35 pm as he was being whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said Officer-in-charge of Turagh Police Stion Mahbub-e-Khuda. In another incident, Md Saidul Islam, 22, a vegetable vendor, was hit by a vehicle near Sheraton crossing early in the morning. Sub-inspector Anisur Rahman of Ramna Police Station rescued him and rushed him to DMCH where the doctor pronounced him dead at around 7am. In Kadomtoli, Md Faruk Hossain, 30, a truck helper was crossing the road near Dhaka Match Factory at around 2:00 am. Suddenly a sand-laden truck hit him and fled from the scene. Critically injured, Faruk was rushed to the DMCH where he succumbed to his injures at around 3:45 am.
