Lahsan Gosht

Ingredients

Beef 800 grams
Oil 1 tbsp
Bay leaves 2
Garam masala whole 1 tbsp
Onions (chopped) 2 cups
Ginger (chopped) 1 tbsp
Garlic (chopped) 3 tbsp
Green chilies (chopped) 2 tbsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Tomatoes (chopped) 5 to 6
      medium size
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Garlic 4 to 6 cloves


Method

Clean and wash beef and cut into pieces. Heat oil in a pan, put bay leaves, whole garam masala and chopped onions. Sauté till onions turn light brown. Now add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilies, cook to mix all the ingredients. Add beef and cook on high heat until the masala is mixed with the beef and water from the meat is absorbed. Add coriander powder, red chili powder and turmeric powder. Stir well. Add three cups of water and cook till beef is tender and masala is well blended with it. Now add tomatoes and check for salt. Cook for 10 more minutes, covering the pan. Add garam masala powder.  Put in serving dish and garnish with garlic slices or cloves.
 

 

 


Mixed vegetable soup

 


Ingredients

1/2 cup carrots, chopped
1/4 cup beans, chopped
1/2 cup green peas, shelled
1 1/2 cup tomato puree
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
2 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
3-4 tsp butter
3 glasses of water
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated cheese for garnishing

Method

Melt butter, fry ginger and garlic paste, add tomato puree, carrots, beans, peas and water. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Add coriander leaves. Boil for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with grated cheese.
If you want thick soup, then add 2 tsp of corn flour mixed in 1/2 cup of milk.
