Bathroom décor

By Dr Tasnova Amin

Like other parts of your house, your bathroom deserves to be decorated to make it more pleasant. To help you choose bathroom décor and to keep it organised, here are some ideas:
1. Arrange toothbrushes, tooth paste, mouth wash, dental floss etc in a pretty holder on the bathroom rack, so you can grab them easily when needed.
2. Hang a hand towel near the wash basin, you can put it in the towel holder. Always store some extra toilet paper, soaps, fresh towels and other bathroom essentials in the bathroom cabinet so they are handy.
3. To prevent build up of mold, wipe the bathroom with antibacterial cleaner after every use. Keep the space dry by using a mop. Make sure your bathroom gets enough natural light and air. Set an exhaust fan to keep the space fresh and airy. Keep an air freshener.
4. Put shower curtains in the bath area to prevent water spilling all over the bathroom. Wash the shower curtain at least twice a month. Keep an anti-skid rug in front of the shower area or bathtub to prevent slipping. Also, keep a doormat outside the bathroom.
5. If your bathroom is small, paint it a light colour to make it appear bigger. Place a large mirror, it gives an illusion of space. Use wet sponges to keep the mirror clean and shiny.
6. To keep the bathroom hygienic, always keep separate cleaning liquid, brush and scrubbing pad for basin, bath, commode, floor etc.
7. Place a laundry basket and waste bin in the bathroom.
8. Plants can be placed in the bathroom to create a nature inspired ambience; they also tend to minimise the odour inside. You can keep different plants in waterproof pots, like plastic or ceramic, for added style. You can even use plastic ornamental plants because they are easy and convenient to take care of.
9. Placing scented candles in the bathroom is an excellent decorating idea; you can also place some fresh flowers in a vase to make the place lively and beautiful.
