Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) has selected men’s and women’s national teams for the participation in the South Asian Games to be held in Assam, India, next month.
The BHF selected the two teams after holding a long five month intensive training camp. Meer Khairuzzaman and Sohag Hossain have been named as captain and vice-captain of men’s team respectively. On the other hand Shahid Khatun and Shirina Akhtar have been made captain and vice-captain of the women team.
The two final squad are:
Men’s team: Md Selim Miah (manager), Md Nasir Ullah (coach). Players: Meer Khairuzzaman, Sudhan Barua, Imdadul Haque, Abdus Sattar, Mehdi Hasan, Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury, Sohel Rana, Russel Chakma, Sohag Hossain, Md Imran, Sakir Samir Emon, Soehl Rana Jr, Tarikur Rahman.
Women’s team: Rashida Afzalun Nessa (manager), Deedar Hossain (coach). Players: Shahida Khatun, Khaleda Sultana, Shilpi Akhtar, Shirina Akhtar, Dalia Akhtar, Shifa, Ismat Ara Nishi, Joly Khatun, Falguni Biswas, Sultana Razia, Jharna, Shumi Begum, Shila Roy and Sushila Mingj.
