A young man was hacked to death allegedly by his friend over a trifling matter at Mirzapur village in Dharmapasha upazila yesterday, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Tofail Ahmed Chanchal, 32, a resident of the village. Quoting local people, police said Amirul Islam Babu, 30, of Mohonganj uapzila in Netrakona district went to the house of Tofail yesterday  for  ealising money which he gave to Tofail as a loan earlier.
At one stage, an altercation ensued among them over the issue in the morning.
Later, Amirul hit Tofail with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
Locals caught Amirul with the sharp weapon and handed him over to police, said Golam Kibria, officer-in-charge of Dharmapasha Police Station.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital morgue.
