RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has taken necessary initiatives of expediting its online civic services through the best uses of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), reports BSS. The city corporation took the measures with the main thrust of bringing dynamism in its service- delivery process through replacing the existing manual activities into digital system in phases. Nizam-Ul Azim, Mayor-in-Charge of RCC, revealed this while addressing a discussion in the city bhaban conference hall today. On the occasion, a plan was presented in order to infusing dynamism in RCC's online civic services. Cim Solution, an ICT Company, presented the plan. Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, addressed the discussion as chief guest.
Nizam-Ul Azim said the city corporation took the decision for expansion of RCC's website, tax collection through banks in billing system and establishment of Wi-Fi zone for creating more scopes of ICT uses. He also put emphasis on enhancing international connectivity, transforming all the RCC's activities into database and displaying information board at various points to make the city information public. Azim said various need-oriented steps were adopted to make the city activities expedited and thereby the public services were expanded significantly.
"We have to enhance electronic connectivity with various organizations both home and abroad for intensifying the international relation," he stressed. Step has been taken to set up Wi-Fi zone in some points of the metropolis to provide ICT uses facilities to drive the young generation into right path. The city bhaban, Borokuthi amusement spot and Rajshahi College were brought under the Wi-Fi zone in the preliminary. More other zones will be established in north and west zones of the city in phases.
