BNP infighting in Sunamganj leaves 15 injured

At least 15 people were injured in a clash between two factions of BNP over observing the founding anniversary  Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in Dharmapasha upazila headquarters here yesterday, reports UNB.
Sources said the supporters of Abdul Motalik, upazila chairman and a local Chhatra Dal leader, brought out a procession around 11:30 am, marking the founding anniversary of JCD.
When the procession reached Purba Bazar area, the supporters of BNP  central committee member Rafique Chowdhury swooped on the procession  , triggering a clash that left 15 people from both sides injured. The injured were rushed to Dharmapasha Upazila Health Complex.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under  control, said Golam Kibria, officer-in-charge of Dharmapasha Police Station.
