The citizens of the duly defunct Indian 28 number Boro Khanki Kharija Gitaldoh enclave located under Dimla upazila of the district are voluntarily constructing about 50 feet long embankment on the right side of Kumlai River for  saving their crops  and smooth communication.
The embankment is being built under the auspices of Boro Khanki Kharija Gitaldoh  Nagorik committee.
During the rainy season the flood water used to enter into the crop lands through the breach in the embankment damaging the crops specially paddy field. Besides, the people had to go to other side of the river by wading through the water during the rainy season.
After the exchange of the enclaves of both India and Bangladesh on July 31 this year, the Boro Khanki
Kharija Gitaldoh  Nagorik committee was formed in order to solve the problems of the newly included Bangladeshi
territory. The president of the committee Md Farhat Hossain said ‘Apart from constructing the embankment we have already built a mosque in our area at our own effort.’
He further said the local Bangladeshi citizens are cooperating with us in constructing the embankment.
