RU goes on 15-day winter vacation from Dec 31
RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi University (RU) will go on a 15-day winter vacation from December 31, university sources said.
Regular classes and examinations will remain closed from December 31 to January 14 while administrative activities will remain closed from January 1 to 7, confirmed public relations office of the university. The residential students have been asked to leave halls on December 31 by 12 noon. The halls will reopen for students on January 7.
Reunion of JU 22nd batch held
SAVAR: The reunion of 22nd batch students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) was held on the campus here yesterday amid much festivity and fanfare.
On the occasion, former students of the university brought out a colorful procession from TSC that after parading main streets of the campus ended at a point where they held a rally. JU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam inaugurated the programme by cutting a cake as the chief guest at Teacher Student Center (TSC) premises at about 11.00 am. The daylong event included grand lunch, different kinds of funny game, memory making session and concert.
BAU honours first year classes from Jan 11
The honours first year classes under the 2015-16 academic session of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) will begin on January 11. A freshers’ reception will be held at the Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium of BAU on January 10, said the acting registrar Md. Saiful Islam.
‘Discovering Your Potentials’ held at AIUB
The Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organised a master class session on ‘Discovering Your Potentials’ at the faculty auditorium
recently. The main objective of the programme for the senior and mid-level employees of the banks and corporate and business houses was to highlight their existing inherent potential.
As a part of AIUB’s ever growing partnership with the corporate and business houses in enhancing management capacities, delegates from various organisations participated in the programme. The programme was inaugurated with an informative video documentary about AIUB. Dr Nisar Ahmed, director of the MBA programme, heartily welcomed all with a brief presentation on different aspects and facilities for studying MBA and EMBA coursers.
Orientation programme held
An orientation programme for the 21 MBBS batch students of Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College of Gono Bishwabidyalay was held on its own campus at Savar yesterday, says a press release. Gono Bishwabidyalay’s Vice-Chancellor Mesbahuddin Ahmad presided over the programme. University Pro Vice-Chancellor Delwar Hossain, Registrar Md Delower Hossain, addressed the programme, among others. Principal of college Laila Parveen Banu gave the welcome speech. The speakers urged the students to become a good human being as well as doctor on the occasion. Earlier, an oath taking programme for the new comers was held at National Memorial in Savar. conducted the ceremony.
