‘Suicide bomber’ buried without identification

The body of the suspected suicide bomber, who died from an explosion in an Ahmadia mosque in Bagmara on Friday, was buried after a Namaz-e-Janaza at the Hetemkhan graveyard in Rajshahi city yesterday as the body remained unclaimed and could not be identified. The law enforcers could not ascertain the identity of the suicide bomber and Motiar Rahman, officer in-charge of Bagmara Police Station said the body was handed over to Quantum Foundation, Rajshahi unit, after completion of the autopsy.
Enayet Kabir Milon, organiser of the foundation confirmed the matter and said their organisation buried the body as an unidentified person at Hatimkhan graveyard of the city last noon as no one came and claimed the body. The suspected bomber was killed and three people, of Ahmadiyya Muslim community, were injured in the blast. Police said the photograph of the deceased was sent to different police superintendents in districts to find the identity. Finger prints, blood and nail samples of the suspected suicide bomber were sent to CID police in Dhaka for DNA tests and explosive samples were sent to the police bomb expert team for examinations. Meanwhile, central Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat leaders termed the Bagmara blast an international conspiracy and urged Ahmadiyyas to find out the roots of the attacks. Mobasserur Rahman, National Amir of the Jamaat and National Muballig Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury from Dhaka went to the Sayedpur Chalkpara village of Bagmara yesterday noon to visit the spot. “The communal attacks came to Bangladesh from Pakistan. The fanatic Muslims have grown in Pakistan who want to go to power using religious fanaticism and the incident happened under the cover of political patronisation,” claimed Mubasserur Rahman. “The communal mentality that was revealed in the attack was not any typical Bangalee mentality. It has been imported in Bangladesh from abroad”, said Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury.
