Continuing the practice of raaga sangeet classical nights, Peshkar is coming up with tabla-sitar evening today titled ‘Harmony’at the premises of Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyayatan in the capital’s Dhanmondi area. Chinmoy Bhoumik will start with a performance on tabla, accompanied by Prashanta Bhowmik on harmonium. After Bhoumik’s tabla solo recital, Ustaad Karim Shahabuddin will perform classical vocal, along with his accompanying tabla artiste Mir Naqibul Islam. The curtain will be pulled off by the sitar maestro from Kolkata Pandit Partha Pratim Roy who will be accompanied by Naqibul Islam on tabla. Artistes will not only perform raaga sangeet, but also will converse with the audiences in the gallery termed as ‘Question Answer Session’.
In addition, on the day of this classical gala-night, the young talent Chinmoy will be seen on stage who is the pupil of Pandit Madan Gopal Das and a disciple of Bengal Parampara under Pandit Suresh Talwalkar. Accomplishing his primary tutelage under Pradip Ghosh, Chinmoy joined Chhayanaut in 2006.
Classical music enthusiasts can buy tickets at venue before the show. Ticket costs BDT 150 in general and BDT 100 for students with ID card.
