Six candidates for the post of mayor of Charghat Municipality of the district promised to improve civic amenities if elected. The candidates also pledged to make the municipality free from corruption, reports BSS from Rajshahi. They also promised that they will put in their best efforts for making their respective administration developed besides improving living and livelihood condition of their voters through need-oriented projects. The mayoral candidates were responding to queries from voters on Charghat Central Shaheed Minar premises in a face to face with people programme organised yesterday by Sushasoner Jonya Nagorik. The candidates who attended the programme are incumbent mayor Nargish Khatun (Boat) of AL, Jakirul Islam Bikul (Paddy Sheaf) of BNP and independent candidates Kibria Biplob (Jug), Kayem Uddin, Anisur Rahman and Sabbir Hossain.
