Hundreds of people of Hazipur village formed a human chain in Narsingdi town on Wednesday demanding arrest and punishment of a rapist. Speakers said a class-V student of Hazipur village was allegedly raped by a criminal on December 21. She is a student of Hazipur Primary School. Police and witnesses said the girl went to Mayer Doya studio at Hazipur for bringing her picture at about 9am. Criminal Rubel took the girl to the dressing room of the studio and forcibly raped her. As she screamed for help some people rushed to the spot, rescued the girl and sent her to Sadar hospital. Earlier, the criminal managed to flee. The human chain programme, organised in front of the Narsingdi Press Club,  was presided over by former Hazipur UP Chairman Mashe Alam.A case was filed with Narsingdi Sadar police station. But no one has yet been arrested.
