Benapole: Four Bangladeshi women and a minor girl returned home through Benapole check post on Wednesday night after serving two years’ jail in an Indian prison, reports UNB. The returnees were identified as Rehena Khatun, 25, Ruma Khatun, 20, Sajida Begum, 27, and seven-month old Moheni of Satkhira and Sharmin Akter, 23, of Khulna.Indian immigration police handed them over to Bangladeshi immigration police through Benapole check post at about 7:30 am Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Benapole immigration police said the arrestees went to India illegally in search of jobs two years back. Indian police arrested them from a house in Kolkata. Afterwards, they were sent to jail by a court and served two years’ jail term. Upon completion of the jail term, they were kept in Kolkata Jabala Shelter Home there.Later, Indian immigration police handed over the Bangladeshis to Benapole immigration police on Wednesday night.
