JAMALPUR:Employment generating programme for the ultra poor people has begun in the district, reports BSS. Directorate of Disaster Management has allotted Tk 19 crore 91 lakh 37 thousand and 774 to implement the first phase of the programme. District Relief and Rehabilitation Office sources said Tk 17 crore 80 lakh as wages for the 22,250 labourers and Tk one crore 99 lakh 13 thousand and 774 as non-wage cost and 12 lakh 24 thousand as wage for labourers leaders (Sardar) were allotted.
Under the programme each of the 22,250 labourers will get wage Tk 200 per day during the 40 days of the programme in the district. District Relief and Rehabilitation Office sources also said Tk 1 crore 55 lakh and 28 thousand for 1,941 labourers in Bakshiganj, Tk 2 crore 35 lakh and 4 thousand for 2,938 labourers in Dewanganj , Tk 2, 60,96,000 for 3,262 labourers in Islampur, Tk 4,29,44,000 and for 5,368 labourers in Sadar, Tk 2,33,52,000 for 2,919 labourers in Madarganj, Tk 2, 42,88,000 for 3,036 labourers in Melandah and Tk 2, 22, 88,000 for 2,786 labourers in Sarishabari upazila have been allocated as wage. District Relief and Rehabili-tation Officer Abul Manjur Md Abdul Hai said under the programme 270 various development projects will be implemented in the district.
