Bangladeshi feature screenplay ‘The Uncertainty’ by Zafor Firoze recently won the best screenplay award at the Berlin International Art Film Festival.
After winning the award Zafor Firoze said, “The screenplay is based on a true story of my father's life. On 12 November 1970, a devastating cyclone causing a tidal wave killed more than one million people living in the coastal region of Bangladesh. At that time many families of Bhola, southern district, were wiped out. Many families also lost their relatives and became destitute.”
“In this story, I have tried to bring up how a beautifully arranged family is destroyed due to a natural disaster. It will play a role in creating public awareness and finding a solution to climate change,” he added.
Currently, Firoze is studying PhD in film at the Limkokwing University of Malaysia and is active in digital filmmaking with films, TV commercials, documentaries, read a media release.
