On the occasion of Victory Day, Swarachitra—a recitation organisation has arranged a solo recitation evening with Mahidul Islam today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), Segun Bagicha in the city. Mahidul Islam will recite a number of 38 poems by eminent poets Nirmalendu Goon, Asad Chowdhury, Jibanananda Das, Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Syed Shamsul Haque, Buddhadeb Basu, Jasimuddin, Shamsur Rahman, Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah, Sukanta Bhattacharya, Joydeb Basu, Humayun Azad and others. besides, a number of popular poems such as Jibanananda Das’s ‘Bonolota Sen’, Nirmalendu Goon’s ‘Ami Aj Karo Rokto Chaite Ashini’, Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Shesher Kobita’ Sunil Gangopadhyay’s ‘Keo Kotha Rakheni’ and Shamsur Rahman’s ‘Tomake Paoar Jonno He Swadhinata’ will also be recited during the event.
