A mobile court on Wednesday fined 20 organisations in Kaliganj town for hoisting the national flag of wrong size. Kaliganj upazila land officer and executive magistrate Shahanaj Parven said the national flag will be in bottle green and rectangular in size in the proportion of length to width 10:6 bearing a red circle on the body of the green. The red circle will have a radius of one-fifth of the length of the flag, according to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Flag Rules, 1972 (Revised up to July, 2005). She said: “The amount of the fine realised was Tk. 4,300. The mobile court has fined the organisations as the national flags hoisted by them were of wrong size while the stands used for holding the flags were of wrong size too.”
