‘Amar Bondhu Rashed’, ‘Guerrilla’ to be screened at BSA today

Today, on the occasion of Victory Day, two Liberation War films Amar Bondhu Rashed directed by Morshedul Islam and Guerrilla by Nasiruddin Yusuf will be screened at 4pm and 6pm respectively, as a part of the 15-day event titled Bangladesh Film Festival 2015. The story of Amar Bondhu Rashed (My Friend Rashid) is based on the novel with the same title by Muhammad Zafar Iqbal. The story of the film is mainly about a boy named Ibu during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He lives in a small town. The main character Rashed suddenly appears at his school. The name Rashed was given by the class teacher on the first day at school. In 1971, when other students are not conscious about the liberation movement, Rashed could understand the seriousness of the matter. Rashed started to motivate others to make them understand these matters. One day, Pakistani army attacks the town and Rashed observes the battle. He and his friends start to help Muktibahini (Freedom fighter). A member of Muktibahini they know, named Shafiq, gets caught in battle. Rashed and his friends take him out from death. One day, Rashed and his friends get detached from each other. Ibu and his family leave the town for a safe place over the border. But Rashed stays and gets involved with the war. The friends meet again after the war is over. But, Rashed was martyred in the war. This is a story of a young gun of Bangladesh which reflects our fearless martyrs courage during the Liberation War.
