Key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - dropped for the 6th consecutive days on Monday, the second trading day of the week.
The DSE key index, DSEX lost 8.82 points or 0.19 percent to close at 4533.91 on the day. Of the 315 issues traded, 89 gained, 181 declined and 45 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 334.95 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday as against Tk 274.16 crore was exchanged on Sunday.
Bangladesh Industrial Finance Corporation topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Hakkani Pulp & Paper, Shinepukur Ceramics, GQ Ball Pen, Eastern Insurance, Simtex Industries, Information Services Network, Tosrifa Industries, Al-Haj Textile and Aziz Pipes.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco Pharma, Regent Textile Mills, Square Pharmaceuticals, Quasem Drycells and Delta Life Insurance.
Top five gainers at the DSE were Global Insurance, Desh Garmants, Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills, ICB AMCL Second Mutual Fund and Renwick Jajneswar.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI lost 62.67 points to reach 13820.08 at close on Monday. Of the 237 issues traded, 50 advanced, 160 suffered loss and 27 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 24.95 crore on the day.unb
