The High Court yesterday ordered the exhumation of the body of Madaripur schoolgirl Happy Akhter, who along with her friend Sumaiya Akhter was killed after rape, for another autopsy, reports UNB. An HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain passed the order following a petition filed by Happy’s mother Mukta Begum. On August 13 last, four unidentified youths brought the two girls of Mustafapur High School, aged 14, to Sadar Hospital in a critical condition, claiming that the duo took poison to commit suicide. However, on September 13, Happy’s mother filed a rape case with a court against seven people and prayed for the exhumation of the body for re-autopsy. The Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal on October 18 rejected the petition.
