The country’s first ever comic-con event ‘Dhaka Comicon’ which had returned for its fourth year on December 10-12, concluded yesterday on Jamuna Future Park premises in the city’s Baridhara area.
The Dhaka Comicon has proved to be a pop culture platform for comic book enthusiasts and superhero aficionados since it began in Dhaka. Just like every year, visitors cosplayed as their favourite characters and became a part of this popular gathering.
This year, the three-day event invited international contingents from beyond borders. Visitors and cosplayers were also able to meet and network with Comicon’s Indian counterparts and explore the possibilities of future participation at Delhi Comic Con, Mumbai Comic and Film Convention, Bangalore Comic Con and Hyderabad Comic Con.
Additionally, the Florida-based videographers named ‘11th Hour’, whose works include New York Comic Con and Star Wars Celebration, Delhi Comic Con, and Mumbai Comic and Film Convention, attended ‘Dhaka Comicon 2015’ to shoot the event. Participants also met many international comic book distributors and were happy to be able to purchase timeless collections.
