A Gayle-storm was always on the cards following his two consecutive failures in the third edition of BPL. Much to the dismay of Chittagong Vikings, it came against them. Vikings had nothing but to restore some pride in its last match but Chirs Gayle’s marauding knock gave them a cruel send-off. Once Gayle gained his momentum by scoring 19 off Asif Ahmed Ratul, Chittagong accepted the fate of defeat despite amassing a 135 for seven in a pitch that wasn’t so conducive to the batsman. Pitch doesn’t matter to Gayle if he is in his mood. And when he is in mood, over-boundaries are bound to come in abundance. That’s what the speciality of Gayle. That’s how he entertained the crowd all over the world. His unbeaten 92 came off just 47 deliveries and included six fours and nine towering sixes, some of which landed at the gallery. On a day when Gayle plays his knock, everything becomes secondary.
